Interest rate drop
|
So it looks like the base rate could drop today to 0.25%
If that does happen, how quickly to banks pass this on to their fixed rate mortgage deals? I'm in the process of buying a house and if we can get a revised mortgage offer at a lower rate is be ducking delighted as the thing is gonna be a money pit

Yes it's a flexible/offset mortgage no penalties. To be fair it's an excellent product and affords my family a lot in that respect.
As some have mentioned it's not easy getting approved by FD/HSBC but if you can they're very good.

I paid £300pp to Lanzerote in January for next week and the flights are now £190
Gutted but had I not booked the flights we would have lost the villa which is absolute luxury so swings and round about I guess.
I knew I was paying over the odds but the missus was in my ear to get it booked
Fucking bitch

No offence but couldn't give a crap about savers. Just be grateful yiuve got somethin to save - I can't afford to.I'm hardly going to be thinking in ten years time, oh crap the interest rates are 10% and I can't afford my house but at least older people who bought their properties for 5 figures in the eighties are raking in the interest in their savings

You've had a right touch then. Should make the exchange rate to the dollar less painful.
Swings and roundabouts, son.
